Good riddance 2013, you sucked!

I cannot believe the optimism that I felt at the beginning of this year.  2013 literally has sucked the life out of me emotionally.

I have lost so many people. Graham, James, Aimee, Tom: I have so many memories with each of you. Momma bear: I cant even begin to describe the void that is left in my life after you left me. My Little Gus: You were my best friend, I told you everything. You never judged.

As I sit here in the last 5.5 hrs of this year I am cautiously optimistic for 2014. I don't think it could be any worse.

Lets recap the results of those goals I set early this year.
I did not lose 20 lbs. I did not train for a marathon. I did run 1 half marathon. And, most importantly, I did remain injury free.

I ran Fargo 10K with barely any training. My time was 1:13:26. Not great.

Tough Mudder was absolutely amazing! I seriously couldn't have asked for a better team. I'm excited to do this again.

I ran Monster Dash again this year. I killed my run! I honestly went in thinking that I was undertrained and only wanting to finish in the 3:30 time to finishing 20 minutes faster than my previous time! I honestly don't know how I finished faster, I trained way less than last year.

I joined karate again this year. It's been great. I love going there and not thinking about anything else for an hour and a half twice a week. It's probably my saving grace.

In November of this year I hired a trainer. My goal was knowledge, and upper body strength. The things that she taught me about the gym are invaluable and because of her I can now do pull-ups. Assisted, but hey... I do them! Haha. I would never have tried before.

Ok, so. Goals for 2014.. here we go:
I WILL lose those 20 lbs
I WILL train for a marathon. RunDisney 2015 I'm coming for you.
I WILL be belted
I WILL drink more water.
I WILL eat healthier.
